Seriously. My ideal apocalyptic loadout would not be complete without my '94.

Though I'd also want some cut down 10/22 Carbine for small game.

Don't own any handguns aside from a ruger six shot .22. I suppose I could load it with .22 WMR for a last resort.

A good store started its 4th of July sale recently, so I took a drive to get my first gun. Here's my new Ruger AR-556 with 30-round and 10-round magazines (the back sight is folded down). I got a really good deal because it was already cheaper than all the other stores I checked, and the sale made it even cheaper. Ammo was on sale too, so I got a couple hundred rounds.

I guess I'm finally ready for the zombie apocalypse now.

Do you think you'll kit it out with stuff and maybe give it a different paint job, or will you leave it as is?

If I wanted a pink tiger skin gun, I could've bought one of those at the store, lol. There's not much to add since it's my first gun and I'm not going to have any specialized purpose or use for it. Maybe I'll put on a sling if I feel like I need one.

Used a cloth strap, sewing the ends into two loops and threaded an old leather belt through em to make a harness to fit over the stock of my Model 94.

Taking obvious influence from this.

I intend to turn this into a full sling, attaching one strap to the leather harness, and the other to a metal ring I intend to loop around the barrel. I've already gotten an adjustable strap from a laptop bag so I've basically got all the materials I need to finish it but I'm not in a place where I can put it all together.

Nice DIY strap, Smerg. You're a real good craftsman. I look forward to seeing the final product.
