C3O Update: 'Rescue a person' objective

Postby Saxon » Wed Mar 06, 2013 1:30 pm

Hi everyone,

I've just released a new update which adds the 'rescue a person' objective. There are more details in the blog post here:

http://www.binaryspacegames.com/2013/03 ... objective/

If you create a map with the new objective, post a link to it here so other people who don't have a map can try it out :)

Excellent update Sax. I love the effective response to community feedback.

I've changed the objective of my Netherlands map to a rescue mission. Enjoy Guys!

Blinded sided by an update. I do not disapprove. Time to get around to finishing my new map.

This update is basically the same as 'get to a building' for now, but linking objectives should change that.

Brilliant, one more mission complete. Can't wait to try out your map!

The fat guy’s accuracy has increased from 30% to 45%, to offset his slower walking speed.

When you start the game all three of your survivors are automatically selected.

Brought back double-click-to-run, from the original Class 3 Outbreak.

Three requests all implemented in a single update? How awesome!

Other than that, I don't find the new objective different from the "Get to the Building" objective. It's almost exactly the same. Just head toward the X.
I thought this objective would have the X hidden on the mini-map (until you get within range) rather than shown at all times.

Yeah, it's pretty much identical, other than needing to only get one of your survivors there instead of all of them.

As coins said, I think it'll be more useful once chaining multiple objectives goes in - so you can rescue a person and then go do something else with them.

Since is the last 'objective' that you were planning on adding before the more taxing/complex ones came in, how long until we can see that feature?

Hi Smerg,

Chained objectives is the next thing I'm going to work on for C3O, but before that I'm going to do a bit more work on ZOS for iOS. So although it's "next", it'll be a while yet before it's ready to release.
