Horrible Maps

Postby Marcusaralius76 » Sun Jan 20, 2013 7:31 pm

there are tens of thousands of maps in this game, and I've played on many of them!

Many of them are unfinished, hastily made, or completely broken. When you run into one, post it here for all to see!

Rules:
Post a link to the map
Tell everyone what was wrong with the map, and how to improve it
No long tirades about how humanity is evil and the world is going to hell in a hand basket.

I sent Saxon a PM containing the first few I found, but I'll post any others I find here so I don't spam up his inbox

This map doesn't have too many buildings, which makes survival hard. Of course, that's not the problem. The main problem is the fact that walls that make up the buildings in the map are way too thick.

This map is good, but the collision map needs to be redone due to the fact that the image it's overlayed on just got updated, so the collision map doesn't match up with the satellite image.

There's a general lack of buildings and the collision map work is a little sloppy.

The doors within the main building are ridiculously small and the person's attempt to make the aircraft on the carrier buildings is lackluster and doesn't really work out too well.

I don't know how to feel about this map. I don't really like it, but I can't figure out what's wrong with it. I wanna say the collision map is off, but I'm not entirely sure.

I want one of my own maps taken off the world map: http://www.class3outbreak.com/maps/354/ ... uk/games/1

The quality is terrible.

I mean, I personally wouldn't have discarded it since the buildings and everything else are still visible. The image itself isn't terribly blurry. I've seen worse lol.

I removed these ones, thanks.

I think this one is okay. I think a lack of buildings doesn't suit the usual style of gameplay, but I think it could be compatible with some of the future objectives (eg for a fairly quick map as part of a future campaign).

I left this one. I think it's probably a bit awkward to figure out, as there are several different levels, like the raised railways with bridges going over the roads. But I think the author put a lot of effort into it, so I think it deserves to be on the world map.

These users seem to have an eternal hatred of windows

Aside from the lack of windows, the collision maps look fine for these two

I disagree completely.
The collision map is obviously lined up, if you look at things like the play structure in the schoolyard. You probably mistook the overhangs on the school as walls that weren't lined up, but it's supposed to be like that
